oktoberfest

for the first time ever, i went to oktoberfest... it was up at lake arrowhead village. it was so cute... lots of little shops... polka band... BEER, sausages... mmm. i was in heaven.

they had a stein holding contest... you're supposed to hold a glass stein full of water straight out, parallel to the ground, elbows straight. yeah. i wasn't about to join in on that one. and they had a beer chugging contest. obviously, the point is to chug the beer as fast as you can, but then you have to put the glass upside down on your head... there were a few contestants that for sure looked like they could put it away, but steve had his money on the unassuming guy from Baton Rouge, LA... and steve was right. he won... not only that, but he was the only one who didn't spill any beer on his shirt and unlike the others, his head was D-R-Y.. man, that guy was the fucking champ! i should've taken his picture :P

i drank maybe the equivalent of about 2 beers, steve had about 5. and he still was okay to drive home. i definitely wasn't. sucks being a lightweight.... at least i'm a cheap date...

the road up was so windy that i felt a little car sick. and i was driving. that's bad. i had to lie down on the way home. but... i had this little problem. unfortunately, the hot chocolate we got had a little too much milk in it. that would've been okay except i couldn't control myself. instead of just drinking a little bit, i drank a lot. like, almost all of it. and i'm lactose intolerant. yeah. i thought my ass was going to explode. it was godawful. but, luckily, we made it home okay... phew. hehe.

the polka band...

look! snow!

we even made a snowman!

okay, so there wasn't that much snow... anyway, it was a snowman, damnit.

Lake Arrowhead village! I love that place. My family has a cabin in Crestline, not too far away. Every year we go to Lake Arrowhead village on the day after Thanksgiving to go shopping. Every year my mother buys everyone oodles of clothes. My parents don't buy many new clothes for themselves, but they love shopping for their kids, even the married ones. I'm not complaining. One more reason to look forward to going home for Thanksgiving.

HAHAHA!!! That was the best picture ever! Before I scrolled down, I was thinking "Wow, I am so impressed with Grace and Steve's ability of making snowmen, i don't think I could make one that good...I wonder how long it took them?" and then I scrolled down to see you and the world's tiniest snowman! Hee hee! Too funny!
